Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. I had a very positive experience with the Fide test at ILS Zürich. Everything was well organized, and the team was professional, friendly, and helpful. The entire process went smoothly, and I felt comfortable throughout the exam. I can definitely recommend ILS Zürich to anyone planning to take the Fide test.

Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. I took a B1 exam. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are modern, new, and clean.
We had enough time to prepare between the written and oral exams.
Everything was very well organized.

Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. I chose ILS Zürich for my German Telc B1 exam, and they didn't disappoint. Everything was explained clearly before the test, and everything went smoothly during the exam; the woman who proctored the written portion was very friendly and professional. The results were delivered 13 days after the test. I'll be back in a few months for the B2!
Thanks a lot

Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. In my opinion, this is the most comprehensive and high-quality language school in Switzerland. Here, we’re not just learning a language—we’re also having a great time. The classrooms are air-conditioned and not crowded; in my previous language course, there were 12 students, but in the class I’m taking here, there are only three of us, and I find that to be a huge advantage. Our teacher, in particular, is very friendly and goes above and beyond to teach us—making the lessons more fun and helping us remember what we learn. If you want to learn a language, I think you should come and try out a trial day. Thank you (Ricardo) :)

Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Italian a good language to start learning at age 50 or older?

Yes. Especially if you want to learn Italian out of personal interest, for travel, or to connect with Italian-speaking people, a customized course can be a very enjoyable experience. With the Golden Age course, the pace of learning is tailored to you, so you can learn without unnecessary time pressure.

Is the Italian course for people 50+ particularly suitable for trips to Italy or Ticino?

Yes. The lessons can be tailored to practical situations you’ll actually encounter while traveling. These include, for example, greetings, dining out, staying at hotels, shopping, using public transportation, or having simple conversations with locals.

What if it's been many years since I learned Italian in school?

That's not a problem. You can gradually refresh your existing knowledge. Since the course is organized as private lessons or a private study group, the instructor can focus more on what you already know and which areas need to be refreshed.

Is there a lot of speaking in the Italian course for people 50 and older?

Yes. The course places special emphasis on conversation, listening comprehension, and writing. The goal is to make the Italian language as practical as possible. In addition, a non-binding conversation course is included.

Can I take the Italian course with my partner?

Yes. In addition to one-on-one lessons, we offer semi-private, trio, and quartet lessons. This allows you, for example, to learn Italian together with your partner or friends and form your own private study group.

Do I need to be available at specific times for the Golden Age course?

No. Class dates and times are arranged on an individual basis. You also determine the course duration together with ILS Zürich. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes. This makes the course particularly flexible if you need to accommodate travel plans or other commitments.

What Italian language levels are available for participants aged 50 and older?

The Golden Age Italian course is offered at levels A1 through C2. This means you can either start from scratch or further develop your existing advanced skills.
