Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. I chose ILS Zürich for my German Telc B1 exam, and they didn't disappoint. Everything was explained clearly before the test, and everything went smoothly during the exam; the woman who proctored the written portion was very friendly and professional. The results were delivered 13 days after the test. I'll be back in a few months for the B2!
Thanks a lot

Trustindex checks whether the original source of the rating is Google. In my opinion, this is the most comprehensive and high-quality language school in Switzerland. Here, we’re not just learning a language—we’re also having a great time. The classrooms are air-conditioned and not crowded; in my previous language course, there were 12 students, but in the class I’m taking here, there are only three of us, and I find that to be a huge advantage. Our teacher, in particular, is very friendly and goes above and beyond to teach us—making the lessons more fun and helping us remember what we learn. If you want to learn a language, I think you should come and try out a trial day. Thank you (Ricardo) :)

Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I understand English, but I freeze up when I try to speak. Would a conversation class be helpful?

Yes. Many learners understand English much better than they can speak it off the cuff. A conversation course helps you actively apply what you already know. By speaking regularly, you’ll practice responding more quickly, forming sentences more spontaneously, and continuing to express yourself even when you can’t think of a word.

How can I become more confident when speaking English off the cuff?

Confidence comes mainly from regular practice. In a conversation course, you speak more often and for longer periods than in many traditional language courses. This helps you learn to translate less in your head and express your thoughts more directly in English.

Is the conversation course also suitable for A1 or A2 levels?

Yes. The English conversation course at ILS Zürich is designed for A1, A2, B1, and B2 levels. Classes are taught in mixed-level groups. The focus is on communication and the active use of students’ existing English skills.

Can a conversation class improve my vocabulary?

Yes. When speaking freely, you’ll quickly notice which words and phrases you’re still missing. New terms are used right away in conversations and can thus more easily become part of your active vocabulary. So it’s not just about knowing more words, but actually using them when you speak.

Does the English conversation course take place online or in person in Zurich?

The current English conversation course is held online. Classes are on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Each course session lasts 6 weeks. This means you can participate from home and still practice speaking English regularly in a group setting.

Is the English conversation course free for ILS participants?

Yes. The conversation course is free for students already enrolled in ILS courses. External participants may also enroll and currently pay CHF 150 for a 6-week course block.
